I thought I would ask the converse of the currently-busy "What franchises do you wish were in Pittsburgh" thread. Therefore, what restaurants or Pittsburgh/SW PA chains do you wish could be available elsewhere?

Some Pittsburgh-based chains, like Mad Mex, have made it out of the immediate region in small numbers, Primanti's has their Florida restaurants, and places like Eat N' Park or Crazy Mocha can be found throughout the greater region, but not beyond (to my knowledge). A recent Post-Gazette article mentioned Burgatory's grand design to go national, and I think they have a very good shot of achieving that. So what other Pittsburgh places do you wish would spread its tendrils nationwide so you could find it wherever you go?

Thrilled to hear that Burgatory wants to expand. Well-deserved!

Otherwise as far as local chains/franchises are concerned there aren't many, really, that I can think of that I'd want to patronize if I were in Walla Walla, Waukesha, Wilkes-Barre, or West Hollywood. I don't care much for either Eat 'n Park or King's.

Maybe Pizza Sola? Dave & Andy's?

Would you take Dave & Andy's over Friendly's?

I actually tend to prefer BRGR before Burgatory, but that's probably because I can walk to one and not the other. Specialty burger joints with similar approaches seem to be popping up everywhere.

I could see Sharp Edge going wider. It's already mediocre, which seems to be the hallmark of a good chain.

I can't think of one I'd go out of my way for.

Maybe something like Franktuary would have a shot though.

On one hand, none. Nothing against Pittsburgh chains, but when I travel, I try to seek out something different, be it a chain that is not in Pittsburgh or some local favorite. On the other hand, I would like to see all of Pittsburgh chains go national because that means that they are succcesful, even though I would probably not frequent them when I go out of town because I know what I am getting at Eat N' Park, so I probably would choose Village Inn instead, even though it is similar.
