Relocating and looking for upscale 1BR Downtown, Strip, Southside

Want secure building, parking.

Prefer small dog friendly, non-smoking if available.

Only recently renovated or new construction.

Ideas?

Thanks.

How about the River Vue Apartments, the old state office building recently renovated into apartments. Valet parking, and easy access to the interstate and the airport.

Apartments in town go pretty quickly, but they do have a lot of units mostly 1BR and its adjacent to Point State Park which looks like a good place for your dog to crap.

Most small dogs are friendly (maybe not a corgi) and none of the smoke.

What's your budget. Anything meeting the above criteria isn't going to be on the cheap side of things. Most of the places in the southside meeting your criteria fill up quickly. I cant speak as much about availability in the other 2 areas.

For what you're asking for you'll be paying minimum $1,300+ (people here might knock this but I'm sorry, for a new/upscale w/parking in those areas, and animal friendly thats what you'll get).

My suggestion is Carson Street Commons in Southside. Lived there for a year when I first moved here - $1,400 for a 1bd/1ba w/laundry, private garage, pet friendly, etc.

Probably the best newer apartment value in those areas. Everywhere else you'll be paying extra on top of that $1,300 for parking, laundry, or dogs.

Cheers.

This isn't in your desired location, and the website doesn't say anything about dogs, but it might be worth a call just in case: Hyacinth Place Apartments - Oakland, Pittsburgh

I never heard of those before. By the looks of the photos, they put more money into that building that the rest of the residential buildings in the area have seen in a decade.

That area's long overdue for some TLC. I drive by that building almost every day on my way to work, and it was only a few weeks ago that I actually paid attention enough to notice it was no longer an active church.

I recently did this same search and will post more on it at a later date. However, in the interim, use this link from the Downtown Pittsburgh Partnership for a list of all the rentals and condos in the Downtown area. 1BRs seem to run from $1300-$2000 and going up from there. Most of the buildings are pet friendly but not all of them are:
