That's a whole new level of terrifying.
My parents live in stanton heights. If random, that was too close for comfort.

Agreed. Random always freaks me out.

A neighbor is a blend of random, depending on if there was any prior interaction.

OMG! A neighbor? What's the reason? And why did those sweatpants end up in the dumpster? I am horrified and enraged in the same time. Mostly I am horrified that in this country there's such an easy access to guns. If guns were outlawed maybe these two women would have lived.
May the two women rest in peace.
I am not sure if PA has death penalty but this fellow deserves it.

It truly is sickening. Two good people that really were doing good things meet some pos. Shame. Guess it is a pretty bad area. Wish they didn't choose that location to live. We need more people like them around here.

Just wanted to say that as an outsider, I have no recollection of pgh making national news 'often' for violent crime...Also, you can look a century back and find random serial killers or rampages in often strange or unexpected places. Pgh doesn't come to mind for race riots or anything like that, either....

Pgh definitely doesn't come to mind when I think of 'violent cities', either....I think chicago, detroit, areas of CA, Miami, even Colorado b/c as a state, it definitely makes national news more often for mass murder sprees. Pgh? Nope. This is unbiased as far as pgh goes, too. I'm just researching the area.

The two areas are part of the denver metro, the only metro in the entire state, and is roughly the same size at the pgh metro area, population wise. 2.6 million [the entire state of CO has 5 million].

When KDKA went on the air at 5PM, there was a live shot with cops standing on the porch next to the house where the sisters lived. I was wondering, "Why are they on that porch, I thought it the ladies lived in the house to the left?" I found it peculiar. The breaking news was just occurring during the broadcast and it was revealed a few minutes later that a man who lived directly next door was taken into custody. A woman was also shown leaving the property during the newscast. If it was indeed a next door neighbor, he/she would know a bit about them and their comings and goings. Stay posted.
