I see that I have my current balance which is XX.XX, but I also see one that says budget balance is YY.YY.

what's the difference? I've been paying whats due all this time. don't know why I haven't bothered to ask before, but I figured id ask now.

One is your accumulative usage. The other is your budget. The budget spreads your payments out evenly over 12 months. If your electric is higher in the summer due to using air conditioning, you pay a smaller amount and spread those payments over the year. If you miss a budget payment, the entire balance is due at once.

What Hopes said. The idea is to make your electric bill roughly the same amount each month instead of having it go up high in summer and plummet in winter. It is supposed to make it easier to budget your monthly expenses if that amount is more predictable month-by-month instead of being variable.
