I drove over the Rankin Bridge and noticed the progress at the Carrie Furnace site. It appears to be fully remediated and totally flat. The grass is growing in nicely and its a beautiful site from above.

Should the site remain a nature reserve and park? Or should the site have an urban style redevelopment and preserve some of the natural surroundings? Im torn at the moment. After 30 years of watching the site decay and fester, its nice to see the new green landscape beneath the bridge.

I think it should remain a park and they should extend the bike trail from Duck Hollow out to the site.
