Some of my favorites in Highland Park and East Liberty - especially clicking on the historical view tab on the top left and going back to 2007.

Absolutely mind boggling alleyway transformation. The before shot there is almost completely unrecognizable from the after shot. The 2007 view looks like an alley in a third world country alley up and down and the after shot looks like it was taken in San Francisco.

I love that little green historic looking modern garage addition on the house at the intersection with St. Clair street. It looks like it was an original part of the old house all along and the only giveaway that it is actually a garage is the door on the side. If only everyone could spend the money to do contextually appropriate new construction in historic neighborhoods just like that.

We need more redevelopments like this in depressed areas of the city, just improving the landscaping alone in these overgrown areas can make the streets as well as the neighborhoods themselves 1000x more appealing to new residents.

Maybe this view will put this in perspective. I don't think you folks would understand this hill. It is part of the dirty dozen which is coming up pretty soon. I don't believe there is another hill in the country that can hang with our very own Canton. Actually, it is probably the steepest hill on earth at a 37% grade! Shall we all take a little ride?

I'm all for local pride and everything, but I think New Zealand has the better claim. The 37% grade part only extends for 6.5 meters. If can judge a street by that short of a stretch, the next thing you know somebody will submit a curb.

Baldwin Street - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[The above is not to suggest I'd find it enjoyable, or even possible, to ride a bike up Canton.]
