I sure hope so, but my bones tell me otherwise.

That being said, my parents had us too young and they were both clueless and financially unstable for the first decade or so. I guess there is no magic age! At 33 I feel both too young and too old for kids.
I was horrified when I realized that my granparents were my age with 10 kids. 10 kids! are you kidding me. 10 kids in a tiny 800 sq ft bungalow.

Not sure if he's trolling it's possible, but it does get a lot harder in this region once you hit mid 30's especially if you're looking for someone without kids. If you're in your 20's you shouldn't have a problem late 20's is like the golden age.

It seems as if people in this region have always been in a rush to get old in a hurry. Graduate, get married and start popping out kids left and right. By the time they get to their late 30s/early 40s they've already become set in their ways and overly resistant to change in new ideas. I always figured at that age you'd still have a little bit of youthfulness left but with the experience gained when you were younger.

My experience has been the complete opposite, very few of my friends were married in their 20's.

Anywhere that makes you see your generalizations are true of nearly everywhere you can go. For example, compare Pittsburgh to its 'comparable' cities and explain why it is different here. This is, er ... city 'data' after all, not city 'here's my opinions based on zero facts whatsoever except what I think i see wandering the local streets'.

cheers

Other cities I have lived in have healthy populations of single no/kids. This is the first city I have ever lived in that has been so anti-single pro-child. In some ways that is a pro, in others a con.

There is another thread that points to Pittsburgh's tolerance of sexual orientation. I don't see the same consideration made to singles or couples without children. The main question is always, "When are you going to get married?" or "Why aren't you dating anyone?" The second question is, "When are you going to have kids?" I feel bad for some of the residents here to see them squirm under the pressure.
