Macy's to close store at troubled Century III mall

I knew it was only a matter of time, but I'll be sad to see it go. I really like this Macy's because it has a much larger selection than the nearby Waterfront location.

When I first moved here I was an assistant mgr at the top floor Foot Locker. I was just out the way a few weeks ago and it's starting to give that vibe that of the old Eastland Mall. And yes that Macys had a large big/tall section.

The waterfront Macy's really is terrible selection wise (at least for men).

I haven't been to Century III Mall for quite awhile - does it have any martial arts supplies or comic stores yet? Those seem to be the death knell for struggling malls.

I'm surprised it took this long for them to close it.

I remember Cutlery World back in the day sold knives and martial art supplies. Not sure if they exist anywhere anymore.

Nope, they all have passed on many years back. (Monroeville, Ross, C3)

I was there last week, and I did see a comic shop.

Is there a vape shop or mobile accessories store yet?

Is the company that bought CIII just waiting for nature to take it's course before redeveloping the site? Or have they began the process? I'm just wondering why you would buy a dying mall from Simon and then let it continue to die...
