It is usually not the news that causes the negative thread downward spiral, it is the constant harping about Yinzers and their mindsets. For some reason people think that they cannot just post a good article and have a decent discussion without adding the little jab at end of the post hoping to get people to freak out about it...

Default The Burgh a top City for First-Time Home Buyers

You know I think I'm going to counter the Yinzer Pessimistic forum bombing threads.. With Progressive, Change is happening oriented threads about The Burgh. Tired of coming in here seeing threads from glorified Online Neighborhood Watchmen posting Doom and Gloom up and down this sub-forum. Running off all the Progressive minds.

Progressives Let's take the forum back!

Midwestern Cities Top List for First-Time Home Buyers

Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Chicago rank among the nation’s best markets for first-time home buyers, according to an analysis from Zillow.

Forbes Welcome
One note, the Burgh is NOT Midwestern, but still relevant no doubt.

I do get there are some whose comments can get annoying, but I do agree the little jab at the end has done nothing but help stir the pot and not even get us to one comment about the actual article yet.

i don't understand how after a decade it is a surprise that "pittsburgh has the amenities of a bigger city at a lower cost" and that this is news worthy. all these articles follow the same template. insert statistic about percentage growth in young people. interview person that moved from sf and nyc for a job at "tech company" and insert quote about how housing is cheaper here and pittsburgh isn't a dump like they thought it was. talk about how they love living in "trendy new area that recenlty gentrified". we get it.

contrary to these articles, the real progress being done in the city is by natives and people with a vested interest in their community.
