omg those articles are so fascinating!! Thank you so much for posting them! Mind if I add them to Happenings? That second one lists Pittsburgh along with Budapest and Shanghai in places where New Yorkers are escaping!

And it talked about the gay scene in Pittsburgh! I love it! hah!

NYSTYLE, do you truly get a sense that Pittsburgh is creating a little buzz in NYC in terms of real-estate and "up-and-comingness?" I'd truly be interested to hear about your honest thoughts.

I only hope this continues. We've got room for about 300000 more people in this city

We have an infrastructure built for a million...and New York has some to spare.

I think these sorts of things are amazing. Now, I don't know how much truth there REALLY is in that Pittsburgh is about to "go boom" as according to that first link. Up-and-coming? Possibly.

But still, the fact that all these NYC papers and magazines are writing so much about Pittsburgh (this isn't the first time NYSTYLE has posted such links) I think is really exciting. I mean, do you think Pittsburgher's would have EVER imagined such write ups would have existed not even a few years back? Does this speak progress? I dunno. I hope so.

I've seen more than one article in national newspapers on Lawrenceville alone.

Now we all still have to remember one major thing, though. People could WANT to come to Pittsburgh in DROVES, but if they can't find decent work here, it's all for naught. People aren't gonna stay no matter how inexpensive and up-and-coming a city is if they can't find work.

Hopefully these changes are forthcoming, too.

Yeah, but what's the solution to this...when we have a mechanical government championing the status quo, it's difficult to make progress.

People moved to NC without jobs because it was the 'trendy' thing to do.

Pittsburgh has jobs, just in very specific sectors (IT/Engineering/Healthcare)
