Everyone I know would rather go to one of the various strip malls/big box stores along Washington Pike.

I consider Carnegie to be one of the most underrated places in the entire city, even if most of it is not even in the city proper. Everyone is so focused on the East End housing "crisis" and completely misses places like this that are just fine and Carnegie has the business district and the pretty good transit connection to boot (not to mention the Parkway).

I hope people continue ignoring these places outside the east end bubble...that way when I am ready to settle down and buy in 5 years, I can find a stable place like this with all of its amenities within my budget.
I drive to its business district to go to the stores and restaurants. I live in Crafton and we don't have anything like it. It's about a 5-10 minute drive from my house.

Just resurrecting this thread since I was at Riley's Pub Saturday night. Hadn't been in Carnegie for years, it's really changed. The business district seems to be doing well. I really like the main streets with underground power lines, that's a nice touch that you usually only see in the soulless suburbs.

And, if you ever get the chance to listen to Hewlitt-Anderson play, take it. Two top flight musicians with great resumes.

Never heard of it. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m there.

Along with Dormont, Carnegie is my favorite underrated but growing community.

Cefalo's is a gem that's been around 15 years and counting. Have been to many a beautiful event there https://www.cefalospgh.com/

And my favorite Indian food joint is there too, Café Dehli. There's a new brewery across the street from there as well. Cool place with pinball machines too

Riley's Pour House is a great place to hear some Irish music. If it wasn't so far away, I would be there for a pint often. Carnegie's downtown is quite nice. I have always had a good time there.
