The comments sections of PG articles are typically good fun.

It's always: "Are these hotels going to bring world peace? No? Then it's a waste of money. Think of the children. These investors are idiots."

I've had to stop reading comments on news sites. It's usually the most disgruntled people who have the time to comments.

Overall, I like the look of this new development. It will be a welcome addition to the Smithfield corridor.

I don't know if it's the same in other areas, but our local papers; and TV station's comments sections are littered with so much human garbage at times. What miserable bitter existences some people in this area have.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to hear about this addition to go along with the apartments. I'm sure this development will be pushed a few stories higher now.

I always feel the people writing like that grew up in a upper middle or wealthy family, had very little if any concern for their future since their parents will take care of them for life, they pretend to have it hard and are just spoiled rotten to the point of not caring about themselves because they just don't need to do much. Many don't shower often and look disheveled just to show they are having some pretend hard time. They don't have a clue about business or money or how anything works, they just bash everything that has to do with creating jobs and making a real living. They are happiest in their own misery.

Anyway, I wish it was going to be apartments, but a hotel is okay I guess. I just don't know if Pittsburgh really will have that many visitors to fill these places? I hope it does, but don't know.

Are there any renderings? I cannot access the Post Gazette article. Is this in addition to the apartments or replacing them?

Retail on ground floor with parking, 56 apartments, and a hotel. 18 stories.

The article did not have any images of what it may look like, but previous articles about the building may because this was the plan all along they just hadn't nailed down firm commitments.

This rendering is pre-hotel. It might have changed.

I am familiar with the previous renderings. I thought the project would include retail, parking and apartments. I was not aware of the potential hotel component.
