It is entirely in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar, according to google.com/maps, which I have never found to be inaccurate with neighborhood boundaries.

Good question though! For some reason, I fixated that it was split in half - one part in Pittsburgh, the other in O'Hara Twp, but its entirely in the City limits. This is incredible that we have a Wal-mart in city limits, but then again, this area is not really "city" and I bet most tax payers have no idea you can flip off an O'Hara Twp cop from the safe confines of the Ross Dress for Less.

For those without a car, this actually is not a bad bus ride for grocery/department store shopping or a movie.

Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar is correct, according to the official City neighborhood map: https://pittsburghpa.maps.arcgis.com...f000d24ee1ded5

If the above link doesn't work, try here: Geographic Information Systems | Pittsburgh Map Room and then select "Pittsburgh Neighborhoods"

Yeah I think they only included it in city limits and had Lincoln-Lemington cut across the river there because of the City water treatment plant there.

That's pretty much it. The city annexed the area some time in the early 20th century for the water treatment plant. Eventually the needed footprint for the plant retracted, providing open space. The city decided to sell the land, and UPMC St. Margaret and the Waterworks were built.

The big mystery to me is that the 2010 census claimed there were 540 residents here, even though there are no residential buildings at all. This is almost assuredly an error, similar to the one which counted the Allegheny County Jail in Downtown and not Uptown in the 2000 census. I'm guessing it was the townhouses at Chapel Harbor being miscounted, but it could have been something else entirely.
