allright well the title is pretty much self explanatory. what is pittsburgh? its at the cross road between the northeast and midwest, but i want to know which region is pittsburgh more culturally connected too. choose either region or other (but if you choose other please explain what other is and why you choose it).
personally i think its more eastern being more influenced by their politics and part of Pennsylvania as well as its narrow crooked streets hilly terrain and its amount of rowhouses. discuss.

It's 100% a Northeastern City. It certainly has some traits similar to a Midwestern city because it has stronger ties to those cities historically, but it is a Northeastern City through and through.

Similar is D.C., it shares similarities with southern cities but remains a Northeastern City.

Pittsburgh seems closer to the midwest geographically and seems culturally linked to both areas. Although pittsburgh seems to have a vibe similar to WNY except without the coldness or the economic depression. I would say its both.

Pittsburgh is Northeast. It's probably the most Midwestern feeling of Northeast cities though being so close to Ohio cities like Cleveland and Youngstown. Pittsburgh does have Midwest characteristics but is still considered Northeast by the vast majority because it's in Pennsylvania which is a Northeast state.

100 percent right.

Probably the most western of the northeastern cities. I lived there for 5 years and saw very little "midwestern" traits

(btw: Buffalo or Syracuse are probably the most eastern of midwestern cities)

Pittsburg is only 370 miles from NYC. If Pittsburg was deemed to be the Midwest then the Northeast barely exists which we all know it is a sizeable area. The midwest does not start in Pennsylvania. Anyone I ever met or when I have been thru there ,it is defintely Northeast in personality and population. Alot of Italians and Polish that I'm sure would identify more with the Northeast than the midwest. I'm not really sure why Ohio is even considered the midwest. These states are to far east to be called Midwest. When you consider that many consider Denver to be the midwest as well as Cleveland. Then I don't know who assigns the georgraphical region that a city state is in. Much of it makes absolutely no sense. It seems this line Northeast to midwest keeps moving closer to the East Coast. Pretty soon people will be saying Western Mass is now in the Midwest.

Has a single goddamn one of these polls ever had the majority of votes for the Midwest? Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?

Hey geniuses, which region of the country is this state located in?

There's your answer.
