I mention this because a lot of other forums are saying that he owns a house in DC and he surely wants to use it. The Hazelwood Green site allows for that.
There are separate "rich people airports" where they don't have to stand in lines or go through the same security rigmarole the proles do. This is why you seldom see anyone other than people upgraded flying first class any longer.

I think Pittsburgh Northeast Airport (near Tarentum) serves this function for Pittsburgh's metro.

Atlantic Aviation is a private air port located at the Allegheny County Airport.

Right, but Newark was a separate bid from NYC.

I didn't think of that. Nonetheless, Newark makes more sense than New York IMO. Newark Airport. Being able to make the city over for its own Amazonian purposes that people were touting as reasons to locate in Detroit and Pittsburgh. PATH and Penn Central to NYC.

I could definitely see Newark as a possibility.

The main disadvantage is despite being much, much less expensive than NYC, it's still a high-cost option.

On the other hand, New Jersey is shoveling oodles of corporate welfare Amazon's way, and out state (AFAIK) isn't doing jack.

Yes, but Amazon May leverage incentives from both to land there, just like DC and the suburbs. There will be lots of little offices around the corporate one that can be in multiple nearby municipalities so why rule them out when you can make them negotiate together later in the bid process.

What makes Indianapolis less of a contender than Columbus?
