Some comment about some African America kid working at the Cheesecake Factory & opining about the background of some murderers at a birthday party. The kid in question thanked her; then a bunch of white people got outraged on behalf of black people & white knighted themselves into the issue & got her fired. That about sums it up.

Awww, thanks...I'm around, just busy at work and frankly done with some of the same old arguments with the usual suspects. I've been meaning to post some updates about E Ohio St since they are finally renovating some of the older buildings near Cedar Ave...but I don't know, it's just not the same lately, or maybe it IS the same and I'm not in the mood for it

Stick around, I for one would like to hear about the renovations. You know, something positive for the Forum. Imagine that.

Back on topic: Her bosses felt her statements reflected poorly on the station and fired her. Happens all the time to people posting on line. Am I right, SCR?

Did you read what she wrote? It was very obvious she was upset by the mass shooting when she saw hope in the young black kid at that restaurant.

I wonder if you would be upset losing your career? Seriously?

What if we as a group just stopped?

I think we said all we could on both sides. People aren't going to agree on this. At the end of the day it is over and everyone including Wendy is moving on. I see her now and again. If I get a chance I will ask her about it all, but I have to be a little careful as I don't know her very well. She is VERY friendly and approachable and always smiling and just so kind. I feel bad for her, but these days you can't really speak the truth, only speak as if you are walking on egg shells.

Hope she has a good life and enjoys all those kids. She is a real trooper an asset to the city and a real city person.

Oh wow
I mean, I'd like to comment.. but I don't want to be too mean And quite frankly, I don't know where to start. most of you seem more interested in fighting each other than addressing the topic.. I realize this is the internet, and anything you say will be misinterpreted and used against you, but for a moment .. I thought this forum was somehow beyond that.
Apparently not
