I heard there is a large bed bug problem. I know a member of the maintenance staff who does there painting. He never mentioned cockroaches to me.

If you are looking in the Greentree area you may also want to look in Dormont and Carnegie as well. Affordable places. Carnegie is close to the highway 279. Dormont has the light rail train.

I could be wrong, but I think the OP (who is Indian) is looking for an Indian community. There aren't really any outside of the Carriage Park Apartments, which are something like 80%+ Indian now. I've always been curious how exactly that happened.

Some of the other apartment buildings complexes in the same general area - like Crane Village in Banksville, and the cluster of apartment buildings in Westwood - do have a pretty high proportion of Asians, but I'm not sure if they're South Asian.

Or the OP could live in the East End, since there's a big South Asian population in North Oakland/Shadyside/Squirrel Hill. Admittedly it's more grad student focused, but depending upon what he can afford on rent, it might be the best possibility outside of the South Hills.

Where are you working, OP? There might be a better/closer community for you.
