Help needed. My family visited Pittsburgh in 1993 and we ate at a local family owned Italian restaurant somewhere on the northside. It was a large somewhat modern restaurant but not a chain. We were back in 2017 and couldn't find it. Is anyone familiar with this? What and where is it or was it? When did it close if it did close. Thanks!

was it possibly Mama Rose's (or Rosa)...at the corner of East General Robinson Street and 9th Street? A few seconds walk to a bridge that takes you into downtown?

"further out"? this is important - was it a stones throw (not literally) from downtown, or would it have required a car to drive from0 allegheny center or downtown?

hope we can help you with this!

benzman - Rico's? im not sure i remember that at all.

i wonder if it was possibly DiPietro's in West View.

by "north side", cu29640 could mean anywhere north. west view is just minutes away.
or, could it actually be a place in bloomfield?

was Legends an italian, family-owned place?

cu, do u remember anything else? nice areas, dumpy area, parking lot, standalone building or in a complex?

About a fifteen min drive across the river and up north of town. Large white building with parking all around at corner of intersection. Normal developed area. Don’t recall it had many windows. It was very good.

I recall thinking it looked like the dated 70s or 80s style freestanding restaurant. We also ate at a good one right down town upstairs in an old building. All gone last time. All the restaurants down there are chains.
