It is odd. They aren't only begging for socialism, but some actually want the economy to fail. They do need to study history. You can even study way back in the 1500-1700 era and learn a lot about today. Sadly, this new generation doesn't like to listen. The are the new echo-chamber easily led generation. At least in the northeast and CA, AZ and CO. I guess the patriots are still around in other states. Georgia is done as well. Shame.

Maybe someday the tides will turn and they will see what Venezuela is like. Look at some of the rules CA is implementing. I see Hewlett Packard is headed for TX. I would imagine more will follow soon. People should watch CA. Lots to be learned by their very poor leadership.

Lol. If you mean has done all but nothing for 47+ years, he’s certainly moderate.
He really has done NOTHING! He is a leach and should have been drained in the swamp, but Trump was too busy defending Russia's BS, and the fake impeachment thingy. Talk about not letting him to lead for on second. Wow, we are sure spoiled rotten!

Many of those begging for it are weak and expect things handed to them because “it’s hard”, followed by so many other excuses. I’m still laughing and shaking my head at those who deem many wealthy people as “undeserving wealthy”. I’d wager those same people support the businesses that these people own.

There are soooo many “younger folks” that have worked and made themselves great lives/wealthy, so there’s truly no excuse as to why an able-bodied person can’t do the same.

I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be entertaining to watch, and there’s obviously going to be free stuff for everyone, so we have that going for us.

I think to get free stuff, you can't have savings or be someone that worked hard. The free stuff goes to the 40 crowd. Sometimes I wonder if that would have been the better option, but I can't stand loud type people. Always shouting and just loud as if it is the only way to communicate. I like quiet and civilized, so that makes me realize I made the right choice.

The level of abstraction here does not lend itself to a fruitful discussion.

If we start with the proposition:

We believe in regulated markets for the distribution of most goods and services. However, through the democratic process, we have chosen to enact various taxation schemes in support of funding or "socializing" certain goods or services, including: old age pensions, old age health insurance, income and health insurance support for the poor, etc. etc.

Are you folks looking to go back to a pre-New Deal era role for the government? Gg references 1500 - 1700 in one post, is he looking for pre-Enlightenment ideas?

It seems to me there is potentially a lot of room for bipartisan compromise and agreement between the poles of complete socialism and Ayn Rand-style capitalism?

I don’t recall anyone arguing:

How are you going to make this determination, with your winklepickers?

How is it not capable to determine who is and who isn’t able bodied?

Do you think illegal immigrants and immigrants deserve free stuff?

I certainly think that this is a question that should be settled through rational debate and by means of democratic process, and not by making outlandish claims for the purpose of frightening people.

-Are the immigrants fleeing political oppression/violence?
-Are the immigrants filling jobs that Americans otherwise would not fill/perform?
-Is there a reasonable path to citizenship for the immigrants?

I'm certainly not in favor of "open borders" or abolishing "ICE," but I think there is a plurality of Americans in favor of common sense immigration policy, which is undermined from demagoguery on the Far Right.
