Hello all. It's a long story but my friend is in desperate need of getting catered food on the day of Thanksgiving. She is working double shifts the day prior, and so am I, so she needs to have something catered the day of. Are there any polish places open on thanksgiving that do small catering? Or any good reasonably priced places that do catering on the day of? It can be anywhere in PGH, and surrounding areas. She has to host this year, so I'm trying to help her and her family find a place, since she is so stressed out about it. Any recommendations is welcomed and appreciated. Also, the place doesn't have to have turkey, or anything. She will compromise and get a different kind of meat, she just can't find a place that caters on the day of, that's the problem. Thank you so much!!!

What do you mean by "catering?" Catering to me implies that the caterer will come to your house, set up the table, bring and serve the food and then clean up.

There are many places where you can pick up foods prepared for Thanksgiving. Does Giant Eagle do this? Too bad that the Burgh has no Wegmans as their prepared foods are excellent.

Get a turkey roll and some Heinz gravy. Powdered mashed potatoes. Good to go. Make sure the roll is the highly processed pressed roll.

Getting food catered in on Thanksgiving day itself is going to be tough to find.

Is there any chance that your friend could do a pre-prepared dinner (made by a local grocery or restaurant) and just do the finishing touches on Thanksgiving Day or barring that, have the guests bring a few sides and/or desserts to augment what she's able to pick up or or do herself? Perhaps instead of a whole bird get a few of those turkey roasts to bake, slice, and serve? There's no shame in doing a semi-homemade meal or just keep things simpler and pared down a bit in order for your friend to retain her sanity and enjoy the holiday herself.
