This study is from about 6 months ago, I wonder if the US is actually past 1,000,000+ COVID deaths by now.

“A new study estimates that the number of people who have died of COVID-19 in the U.S. is more than 900,000, a number 57% higher than official figures.“

Wouldn’t surprise me. A lot of deaths get chalked up to the virus.

Imagine someone with high blood pressure getting hit by a bus and dying...

The Alex Jones crowd logic is that the person's high blood pressure was the cause of death.

That’s a really reaching strawman argument. Don’t think the hospitals could pull that off, but might try. The virus is huge $$$.

The virus is seasonal. The South had a summer wave, just like last summer..PA didn't have a summer wave, just like last summer. PA will have a fall/early winter wave, just like last fall/early winter.

As expected, the Alex Jones crowd can't reconcile its "logic."

Yep.

Though, it's not seasonal so much as seasonal climate can have an impact on such things.

The number of people dying after getting the shot is on the rise according to this report from the UK.

Only CA and MA have been releasing data on hospitalizations of vaccinated people. It's a state secret everywhere else in the US. My doctor told me it was 25% of all covid hospitalizations at his affiliated hospital in the South Hills back in August.

Interesting. Thanks. I do think people should primarily focus on death numbers with and without vaccinations. I think being vaccinated is a good idea, but I understand people being leery about it. Drug companies are "for profit" and we need to rely on government to protect us and as we have seen they are also "for profit". Not a very comfortable proposition as we are living it.

Here is MA

Here is a bit of CA. Statistics would probably be similar throughout the US.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7034e5.htm

A lower percentage of deaths (0.2%, 24) occurred among fully vaccinated persons than among partially vaccinated (0.5%, seven) and unvaccinated (0.6%, 176) persons (p<0.001). Death investigations determined that six of the 24 fully vaccinated persons who died had immunocompromising conditions, including HIV infection, cancer (i.e., prostate, pancreatic, lung, or leukemia), and liver transplantation, and that the median age was higher among vaccinated (median = 78 years, IQR = 63.5–87.5 years) and partially vaccinated (median = 74, IQR = 58.0–80.0) persons than among unvaccinated persons (median = 63, IQR = 51.5–79.5) (p = 0.01).
