I could start a thread on Independent's bashing of Pittsburgh and it would be over 50 pages long, so I really don't' take anything they say as personal and really don't care of their opinion. Just trolling all the time. I just see though it all....well it isn't hard to miss really.

i rarely post because except for an opinion i want to share (usually one that inflammatory because no one faces reality or is brutally honest about the core of our problems), i just dont have anything factual to share.

you at least do do that. and, you are brave enough to face the reality. i checked other forums and see NOTHING about the problematic crime in those respsective cities, like in Toronto or San Francisco. i guess those forums just might not have that person or two that is willing to bring that to the community's attention.

you actually keep me connected, gg to that feeling of community, even if its bringing to our awareness crime and whatnot.

but i will still take Pgh. over anywhere. last night I came through the West End Circle, then up over the bridge, then up the 10th Street Bypass. the lights, PNC Park, the buildings...so incredibly beautiful.

If anything it’s proof we don’t live in this fake news bubble or are constantly fed rhetoric from one side or the other.

Many do. The fake news bubble has been fearmongering and scaring folks for years. Many are still so worried about what others are doing in relation to being vaccinated, they’re scared to leave the house.

The fact the news reports negative events is a good thing. It shows there is no fake news. As you have said many times about fake news. If all we heard was positive stuff and we were isolated from hearing anything bad then that would be a problem. You don’t want to hear about the virus but you love hearing and reposting about shootings that happen.

And yes many people are worried about leaving the house. I don’t blame them either. Their fellow Americans are displaying little to no personal responsibility. COVID is here to stay. It is going to remain more deadly and more crippling than the flu.

Btw I drove up to cranberry yesterday. What is going on? Lots of vacant storefronts up there.

I have been to other forums. Some discuss the issues. NYC and the Philly forums do and even San Fransisco is tired of the crazy way of living with the Tenderloin expanding into the rest of the city for crime. Philly hit over 500 murders this year and counting. That is amazingly high. NYC is in a similar boat. Pittsburgh is pretty mild in comparison, but per capita our crime is very high and so many teens getting killed.

I stopped posting the crimes at this point, because what is the use? Our path. is what it is. I think at some point the fake news will be called out more though that is responsible for so much anger that leads to more crime. Rittenhouse is going to be a millionaire as he should. Heck even the president called him a "white supremacist". He wasn't and proved it. Pure fabrication like Sandmann and the Indian. Sandmann made millions and millions off the leftists evil media machine that is running people into a rabbit hole.

Now that we are into the holiday season, I do think it is time for more quiet and less crime reports on here. There are plenty of good things going on. People iceskating and just doing fun things. Light up night was successful and first night is not far away. Been a tough year with Covid and getting used to living with it as it will be here forever really, but we can still have a good time regardless. Some states have it. better than ours of course, but you don't hear about it now. Florida had the lowest cases per capita recently, so they couldn't bash DeSantis for a while. Gotta love the agenda filled media machine brought to you by the left.

The malls, especially Greengate, ended those days, but I have fond memories.
I remember shopping at all those stores (and Sears) after Greengate Mall opened. The opening of Westmoreland Mall in 1977 pulled Sears and Troutman's out of downtown Greensburg to Westmoreland Mall. I think that was the clincher.
