Yes, do tell us more about this super effective armed security of which you speak.

The kind of armed security that couldn't even thwart yesterday's attack? That kind?

Would’ve been a whole lot worse without the police there…and perhaps you missed this excellent post…but do blame those icky guns and meanie police instead of criminals….and let’s not forget mass shootings have skyrocketed in the last 16 months. Certainly not a coincidence. Perhaps the social workers we’ve heard so much about will handle the situation.

the truth paints a wee bit different picture.

ETA: there is no blame placed on the officers, lacking any other situational awareness, they were always playing catch up ball. Everyone who dealt with, and eventually killed ramos was following. This was not a shootout on school grounds where he overpowered a defensive force to gain entry, as was reported.

Given most of these mass shootings are young dudes, I'd even be fine only phasing it in for young people, and grandfathering everyone older in.
Law abiding citizens aren’t the problem and many have taken such classes.

What are you doing about the criminals that steal them, acquire them illegally, etc…, and use them? What are you doing with repeat violent criminals?

The question no one asks is - why are there so many psychopaths in America? Pretty much all the school shooters are psychopaths, although some have Aspergers diagnoses.

Usually countries with high numbers of violent killers have a lot of cousin marriage. It's a common practice in Latin America. Also, it was very common in parts of Europe until the last generation or two. Europe's most famous psychopath, Hitler, was a product of incest. His father and mother were cousins, and his family in general was inbred for generations. Its a very bad idea. Look it up.

In America, I'm guessing it's their mother's drug addiction that alters their brains, but it could be cousin marriages are still producing mutants here.

The response for more gun control doesn't typically come after repeat violent criminals engaging in shootings, it comes after these mass shootings. We don't know the details in this case yet, but typically these are socially isolated young men without extensive criminal records who bought guns legally.

I mean, it sucks, but most people murdered by repeat violent criminals are...other repeat violent criminals. It's personal vendettas more than random violence. People are way more scared of random violence because it could happen to them.

Except there’s plenty of repeat offenders robbing, attacking, killing regular folks.

What are you doing with the violent criminals, repeat violent criminals, and mass shooters after they commit violent crimes?

Except for Adam Lanza who used his mother's legally purchased guns.

Many of these socially isolated young men are known to be ill and some have been on antipsychotics drugs.

My question is why did it take 40 minutes to an hour for the police to enter the building? Okay, the shooter locked the door after him, so why did the police shoot the door open. Why wait to find a staff member to unlock the door. WTF?

Read and weep.

Surprise, it's coming out that the police on scene completely bungled the incident and were unprepared to stop the shooter. So much for that, "one good guy with a gun" nonsense.

Bingo. And media and politicians refuse to even raise the issue because Big Pharma owns them. The side effects of psych meds can be pretty crazy. Can almost bet the shooter was on some prescription.

No surprise meanie police are being blamed. They went to help someone that wrecked their truck. Were they supposed to ignore that, and know they were a mass shooter?

Hopefully a lesson is learned from the entire situation, folks stop crying about police in schools, and they’re put in place for it not to happen again, but I expect crying about guns and police to continue instead…even though guns are never going away, but violent criminals should go away for life.
