Now that things are reopened downtown, where would you go for drinks and some conversation?

I was in town for a private event, and two out-of-towners wandered in looking for someplace to have a few drinks and possibly chat with others.
I had no idea where to recommend, outside of the fl2 bar, Con Alma, the Omni, or the Capital Grille.
I really don't know how the vibe is now in many places.

Where downtown would you recommend for people in their 50s?

Sorry have to disagree, went downtown for dinner for my daughter's birthday. She love's Bae Bae Kitchen (it is very good) so we went downtown and it was a beautiful night. Likely my last time for a while outside maybe market square, we had to walk only about 2 blocks from parking but had to get yelled at by a group of homeless and then repeatedly deny pan handlers while waiting outside for my son to arrive direct from work.

I'll hit up Lawrenceville or Strip area next time, Bae Bae will be take-out from now on.

:::sigh:::
Downtown recommendations are what I asked about.
If you can't make one, don't bother.

Olive or Twist. Used to go often and it always had a very good vibe. I am sure it hasn't changed much.

I do like the bar in that huge room, but I think it’s best for a couple and more quiet. Haven’t been to the other bars in there.

The speakeasy in the basement is very cool, but has limited seating which is strictly enforced.

I think the OP went elsewhere for advice. I do feel for those that enter that arena, but I digress.

The OP did not go elsewhere. She is still awaiting more suggestions.
