Family reunion occuring in Pgh the weekend of Aug 15 - 17. Any festivals or special events occuring in "dahntahn" Pgh that weekend?

Any recommendation for a restaurant on Mt. Washington with a view (that is not too formal)? Group will number 11 people with ages ranging from 9 - 53.

We are staying at the Parador on the North Side. Baseball game planned for Fri nite and Aviary on Sun afternoon. My sibs and I trekked to Avalon three times a year to visit g-parents during the 1960s and 1970s so are familiar with the city's offerings although it has been 15 - 20 years since some of us have been back.

Recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know of any specific events going on, but I would suggest walking around the North Shore near the Stadiums and Science Center during the day before the game. The Science Center is great for "kids" of all ages. Saturday afternoon head to the Strip District. For events going on check out this link.

Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland! If you've been there before, you'll definitely be wowed by the dinosaur hall renovation.

Carnegie Museum of Natural History

The Union Grill, which is a stone's throw away from the museum on Craig Street, is really good for lunch.
