Greetings,

My wife and I are likely moving to Regent Square soon and I was hoping to get a little insight into the apartment hunting process out there. What property companies generally have good reputations out there? I've heard good things about Nexus management and Regent Square Rentals. Any others I should look out for? Regent Square seems like the perfect little neighborhood for us and we can't wait to join the community. I appreciate all the info this forum has given us, I look forward to contributing to it myself soon!

You have heard good things from regent square rentals? this is a first for me. Hopefully they are getting their reputation on track. They have had a pretty longstanding reputation as the neighborhood slumlord company. A lot of it has to do with them marketing properties in wilkinsburg as regent square. Some of it has to do with their maintenance and repairs ( or lack thereof).

there are a good bit of properties in the square run by small time landlords. I would suggest just keeping an eye out on CL or driving the neighborhood and look for rent signs.

I may have stretch a little by saying "good things" but they seem to have a ton of properties out so it's good to know what they're really like it.

That seems to be a common theme to look for small landlords on Craig's List. I will definitely be looking out for those as well.

There are still a lot of landlords around who aren't big property companies. CHeck Craigslist, Padmapper, even drive around and look for "For Rent" signs.

Good to know about Steiner Reality, I'm already looking into them. I'm starting to see some negative reviews on Nexus, anyone ever delt with them here?
