I think that gets to the heart of American politics. It matters less who is president/mayor but more that the branches belong to opposite parties. If Obama wins, vote Republican for congress. If McCain wins, vote D for congress. the fact that there is much oppoisition to Rendell at the state level is the maor reason, IMO, that PA (excluding WV) is the only state in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic area that doesn't have a budget deficit (however imperfect harrisburg is).

google maps says the distance between 15213 (Oakland zip) to Monaca, PA is 37.5 miles one way. That's 75 miles round trip, not 50. It routes via parkway west and route 60. Depending on traffic that would be like 1.5 to 2 hours a day in the car commuting...
