It seems to me that too many people criticize Pittsburgh for not having anything to do. Now, I realize that Pittsburgh is not New York City, but I find these claims to be baseless. Thus, this thread is dedicated to the various things to do in Pittsburgh and current entertainments. I believe this thread could help to wipe out some of the ignorance of natives, non-natives and inform newcomers of what there is to do in Pittsburgh.

Much of the city itself from the stunning architecture of Downtown and Oakland, to the rowhouse neighborhoods of the Northside, Southside, Lawrenceville, Uptown, Bloomfield, etc. to the mansions of Shadyside, Point Breeze, and Squirrel Hill; Pittsburgh is filled with historic and modern buildings.

Does anyone still think there is nothing to do in Pittsburgh?

You forgot biking for activities and Frick Park included with the other parks.

The thing is, as packed as the parks are, and as well attended as all of the other activities are, the people you see out participating are actually a smaller percentage of the total population of this metro area.

People who think there is nothing to do in our area have no life. On my days of, it's not what to do, it's where to start.

And the Montour Trail for biking/jogging/walking. That was packed this weekend with the warm weather. I even saw some guy riding down the trail on a unicycle. lol Good times.

There really is so much to do here, only boring people would find this area boring.

A unicycle!?!

I'm with you and scott, I don't even live in the city and I find there is a ton of stuff to do in this area. As scott said, it's not what is there to do, it's where do I begin?

Twas rated number 1 by National Geographic Magazine last year as the best city for outdoor adventure. Or maybe it was 07.

I'll be there's at least 100 golf courses in the area and one at Schenley Park if it is still open. I think they renamed that after the mayor that died. Also there's tennis courts around. You can watch sports here or participate.
