I was wondering if anyone could offer information about Plum Boro. We are from Chicago and have had a house built in Plum near Monroeville, my husband has been living in the area since he accepted his job in Aug. It seems like a nice area and I've heard that the schools are good. Can anyone offer an opinion on this area and their school district? Our children and me will be moving permanently at the end of the school year. We are excited about our pending move and find Pittsburgh to be a beautiful city with much to offer.

Hi there! Plum is a nice area that is always growing! If you take a look there are several threads already open on this very topic! It is considered one of the next "hot spots" up-and-coming in the greater Pittsburgh area. The school district is well-regarded and it's such an easy commute using Rt. 28 into the city. You picked a great place to build a house. Here is a link about Plum although we sometimes tend to get off topic.. hah. I swear there is another thread solely on Plum but can't find the darn thing!

Plum is a fantastic place to live, and the school district is very good.

The Plum school district is going to hit with an astronomical payment to the state for pensions in the next 5 years. I would stay away.

Plum School district is the 37th best school in the Pittsburgh region... about the same as Brentwood... I would hardly call that very good

This is a 5 year old post, I am sure that the OP has settled into Plum by now
