I'm still wondering what kind of nightlife even exists in the strip to cause problem? I mean, it's pretty much been reduced to Firehouse Lounge and that newish Club Heat gay club (that probably won't last long). Wandering drunks and people pissing in the strip is so five years ago.

Now it's just tumbleweed at night.

The Strip is an awesome place to live. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It does shut down fairly early but you have Kaya which is always open and a great restaurant, and with the grocery store open you have some options.

The biggest downsides to it are limited housing (the only housing there are converted warehouse buildings turned into apartments) and high cost (rehabbing those buildings is expensive so they aren't cheap to rent). The other downside is there aren't really any single family homes with small yards so you are more or less limited to condo type lifestyle.

If you are into food there is, IMO, no other place in the city that comes close to The Strip. We used to joke about living in The Strip that we saved $100-200 a month on groceries and another $100 a month on gas because we could shop at ethnic markets, places like Penn Mac, etc. AND could walk so didn't have to fork over gas money. And that savings made up for the high rent at The Cork Factory.
