It was kept out of the heathcare bill on purpose due to it's costs.
The CBO came back with bad numbers so they said they would pass it later.
What they were doing was extending it via other bills for a few months at a time.

It was all to make the CBO numbers look good and they even admitted that.

Medicare 'doc fix' left out of Senate health bill - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

"..Reid put the measure on the floor without budgetary offsets to prevent its nearly $250 billion cost from adding to the federal budget deficit."

Hot Air » CBO: Doc fix will cost more than anyone thought

The
"In fact, because the ‘doc fix’ costs so much, it was removed from the calculation of the cost of the health reform bill to make it more likely that the health reform bill will pass. "

Funny, because I didn't believe a thing Obama "promised" in his campaign so it doesn't surprise or disappoint me when the agenda is revealed. Very sad.
Is it too much to hope for a leader of character?

There was nothing secret about this. They have been extending it since last year via other bills..just like unemployment. Pay-Go is turning out to be the biggest farce they ever passed.

Spend, spend, spend!

Why not kill the original bill?

What I find appalling was how Biden scolded the GOP for kicking it out. Huh? We don't have money, and Biden wants to continue spending.

We tried to tell the fools that this would happen. Obama and the dems were knowingly lying about the projected costs of the health care bill, and as soon as they had a chance they would pass the "doc fix".

Medicare is releasing checks to doctors' today at the 21.3% reduced reimbursement rate. Our tax dollars will go towards the reprocessing of all the claims once the legislation is passed. It only gives the docs a reprieve until November and then the dog and pony show will start all over. Time to get rid of all partisan hack incumbents, both sides.
