It's not enough to have a state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in Texas. The state GOP now wants to make it a felony crime.

I agree, Cyber. It is harsh. The state's amendment should be sufficient.

Shock value, I suppose, for wanting to slap a felony on it. Almost anything could turn you into a felon these days.

Your link is to an opinion piece on a gay website.
Do you have a credible source without all the self-victimization hysterics?

The Texas GOP site makes no such mention it:
Republican Party of Texas - Strength. Freedom. Prosperity. (http://www.texasgop.org/index.asp - broken link)

All you have to do is follow the links, my friend.

Texas GOP gets tougher on immigration | Politics | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

And the Advocate is a credible source. Again, all you have to do is follow the links they provide. It's not difficult.

There is an almost nondescript mention of it under a column termed Resources, but not on the official GOP website.
I wonder why

Sounds like fear mongering at this point.

So you think the Houston Chronicle just made it up?

And how is this nondescript?

• Creating a felony offense for anyone who performs a marriage ceremony for a same-sex couple.

It appears that the Texas GOP hasn't posted their latest platform on their website yet. That's why you can't find it there.

I've already pointed out that the original source is the Houston Chronicle. Obviously, that's not good enough for some people.

Think of how many threads are started here based on right-wing news websites. And you don't doubt those, do you?
