While cleanup crews and technical teams continue efforts to stop crude gushing into
the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana lawmakers are proposing a different approach: prayer.
State senators designated Sunday as a day for citizens to ask for God's help dealing with
the oil disaster.
"Thus far efforts made by mortals to try to solve the crisis have been to no avail," state
Sen. Robert Adley said in a statement released after last week's unanimous vote for the
day of prayer. "It is clearly time for a miracle for us."
Can't hurt. At this point I'd say try ALL options.
The oil is still spewing..the equivalent of an Exxon Valdez spill happens every 4 days.
The relief wells are tricky and risky at that depth. We are in new territory here as nothing like this has ever happened before. There are many "firsts" happening.
Obama did ask people to pray during his speech on the oil spill included.
Tonight, we pray for that courage. We pray for the people of the Gulf. And we pray that a hand may guide us through the storm towards a brighter day. Thank you, God Bless You, and may God Bless the United States of America.
I must have missed the thread containing the liberal outrage over the Obama prayers.
I take it didn't see the comments from the right wingnuts here on CD
when Obama said that....hypocrites.
No one called Obama a hypocrite, YOU are the one who started the thread to ridicule someone for "praying".. Where is YOUR thread to ridicule Obama for doing the same?
ooh, you wont be able to see this posting either, you put everyone on "ignore" that nail you with facts which objects to the narrow minded viewpoint you have..
Obama would actually pray to Allah not God. Just saying.
