Oh and my kids ARE in public school AND this IS a debate board so I can voice my opinion all I want, if you don't like it don't read it! Perhaps it is your opinion that is not really of any value. Do you even HAVE children?
Wow - I was merely suggesting that if this becomes an issue in your state at somepoint your probably not going to be able to fight it. Maybe, but highly unlikely.

Secondly, yes I do have a child. One is plenty for me.

Then how can you be ok with any school system doing or giving your child something WITHOUT your permission especially something so personal in nature.

Don't you want to be the one to teach your child about sex? Don't you want to be the one they come to if they have questions? Don't you want to be the one they ask advise? When a school circumvents the parents that is never a good thing.

I am going to teach him about sex have open communication with him. Why does it bother you if they go to school and come back learning everything twice? (From you, then them)
Do you think what the school tells them vs you is going to be any different? There's really only one way to explain sex. You get your self out the same way you go in, right? I don't think schools are going to be teaching kids anything they shouldn't know or don't already. And the school will also be able to answer more questions than I on a lot of things pertaining to health, normal feelings, etc. They bring in licensed medical professionals to educate kids thesedays. I have no problem with my child listening to a doctor explain serious diseases, pregnancy, etc as a direct result of sex.

I would want to know if there was a problem with elementary school kids having sex in that school district that prompted them to authorize passing them out to kindergartners.

Who turned these kids onto sex in the first place?

If you looked deep enough you'd find an adult molester.

Learning about sex in school not the problem. Handing condoms to 7 year olds is and without the parents permission to boot. That is my problem.

Quoting myself from earlier:
"I think that if my 6 year old is even asking for a condom in the first place, then I have a bigger problem on my hands that wasn't brought on by the school. The 6 and 7 yr olds aren't being educated on sex per se; more like anatomy of the body -- nothing sexual."

I completely agree with you. If there is a reason to believe kindergartners are sexually active, there is a bigger unerlying problem not caused by the school.

But you should have nothing to worry about if you know (and you should) that your 6-7 year old is not going to ask for them.

more sick thinking. ANY 7 year old should not have access to condoms and should not be enabled to have sex by adults!

But that's my point -- they aren't. What has happened is the school released a statement saying something to the effect that condoms will be available by all students. People have twisted that statement into your kindergartners are having sex. The elementary school ranges from age 4-14. Which is still young, but I think they are primarily speaking to the parents of the older children and not the pre-k'rs.

There is no justifiable reason for them to even be offered in the first place. None!
