I thought this part of the article was quite interesting....

....Key West allows bare breasts during Fantasy Fest if they're covered in body paint.....

So what if it is flesh colored body paint? It's still body paint, isnt' it?

Even the majority of people there would be opposed to allowing women to walk around topless without a bra, except for Fantasy Fest.
Most of the old Conchs I knew never went near Duval Street. They hated it and all the "foreigners" it had. And I am sure many tourist families will not be thrilled either. It's going to be interesting.

I'd rather NOT. Why do some people think that the whole world wants to see them naked?

I think they suffer from low self esteem, personally.

Ok, so its legal, but why on earth would they want to in Maine, seems a bit, well, chilly.
Damned if I know!!! It's legal here. Those that engaged in the "protests" were mainly college students. Some commented that women being topless shouldn't attract any more attention than men do. It seemed to me to be a ploy for attention.
Meh,.. they'll get older and won't want to go topless any longer for fear of stepping on their own nips when they try to tie their shoes. (j/k)

Its not about what the world wants. The world wants to give men the ability to take their shirts off outside if they want to but not the women. Whether you think its silly or not that is basically the definition of being sexist. Saying one gender can do something but the other cannot. Gender Equality is a big thing to some people in this country, but clearly not for you. If one person can do something everyone should, or would you rather see women go back to only being stay at home moms and the father are the only ones who go out and get jobs? What about women voting what is your stance on that?

Well, women CAN here if they want to but, it's just human nature to look.

I know they can in Maine we are talking about Florida though. I don't have a problem and doubt they have a problem if anyone looks they just want to be able to legally do it and not have people screaming at them if they do (verbal harassment) or physically rubbing up against them or other stupid things (sexual harassment if it is unwanted).

What does that have to do with anything? You saying because women have a different anatomy they should be subjected to a sexist society?

Okay, but, the protests HERE were in regards to the fact that women should be able to go topless and not be looked at differantly than men.
