When you say "we need oil!", you give the lie to your professed concern for this and future oil-soaked pelicans. How did this happen to the pelican? (Besides the oil lobby ensuring that the rigs didnt have to be safe.)
If you, and all of us, were to cut back as best we can on the oil and petroleum products we use in our households and everyday lives, we're doing our bit for the pelicans.
It's really sort of crocodile tears-ish to feel sorry for the immediately visible victims of our squandering of oil at current (=higher and higher) levels when they're presented to you on a video, and to blame Obama for your own refusal to change.
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to cut down on petroleum products. The products we use to live are made with it. Until the industry finds an alternative to use we will be using petroleum for decades to come.
This video is BANNED! from Youtube!...after viewing it you will understand why...there is a survivor driller from the Deep Horizon Well that is giving a very emotional, moving, heart wrenching account of the initial explosion...there is also the lady who lives in Louisiana who acts as the "voice of the people"..and wait until you hear what she has to say about this horrible disaster..and wait until you see the poor, pitiful pelican tryng to walk with a broken, oil slathered wing... out of the oil......I don't know, nor do I understand how anyone could ever allow this to continue happening without doing all...EVERYTHING!!! POSSIBLE!!! to stop it...WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!.. ....why......?......

There's nothing in the video I haven't seen on mainstream TV coverage on the Gulf. I seriously doubt it's been banned from YouTube. Either way, it's really a terrible disaster.

Seriously...I can say, that what I CAN do as "my part" is vote this idiot out of office in November!...I sure can say that!..and I am NOT for ending all oil drilling!...we need oil!! What needs to be done is taking whatever measures need to be taken from this point on, to build back up pump systems so a damaged one can be re-routed safely before disaster strikes!..there are other countries who do this now...why haven't we?...just a little tip here....this crisis is being milked like a big fat cow!...for all it is worth!...by none other than mragenda himself
You think changing the President solves anything? This issue goes far deeper. Into our consumptive habits. Into the incestuous relationship between lobbyists and politicians of both parties. It goes into the motives of politicians to generate future talking points by sacrificing today. If you want anything to change, you better do much more than vote. Voting by itself isn't doing our part. That should just be the beginning.

Personally, I wish people would stop bickering amongst themselves and focus on DOING something... but I have a really bad feeling about this. Nowhere nearly enough is being done about it, & it really seems that most people do not understand nor CARE about how deadly serious this is.
People are too lazy to do anything beyond bickering and standing around holding signs and marching.
