Conversations between GLAAD and the Today show over the program’s Modern Day Wedding Contest have paid off: Today announced Thursday it will open the competition to same-sex couples.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation approached the show to change its rules and allow gay couples to compete after discovering “bride” and “groom” were the only two options on the entry form.

Nice to see that they're including all couples now.

Couldn't agree more.

No reason something that has no impact on anyone's personal life should be so heavily scrutinized. This country is falling apart and sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. People are people and we all deserve to live our lives as we see fit, as long as no one is being harmed. We, as a species, have much to learn. Hopefully we do not destroy ourselves before the lesson is learned.

A reason why their ratings continue to plummet.

I think I'll watch it instead of going to the freak show at the carnival.

It's free on tv.

I'm happy to correct you. The "Today" show is rated #1, week after week, and has been #1 for about the last 15 years:

"In the second quarter of 2010, the "Today" show maintained its established top position among the three broadcast morning shows, marking 60 consecutive quarters as the number one morning show."
