Conversations between GLAAD and the Today show over the program’s Modern Day Wedding Contest have paid off: Today announced Thursday it will open the competition to same-sex couples.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation approached the show to change its rules and allow gay couples to compete after discovering “bride” and “groom” were the only two options on the entry form.
No reason something that has no impact on anyone's personal life should be so heavily scrutinized. This country is falling apart and sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. People are people and we all deserve to live our lives as we see fit, as long as no one is being harmed. We, as a species, have much to learn. Hopefully we do not destroy ourselves before the lesson is learned.
