Interesting how Obama concentrates on exuses for illegals coming here including helping us by working, yet he entirely leaves out we suffering Americans need those jobs back again. He also leaves out the great toll on Americans from illegals regarding drugs, assaults, murders, thefts, property damage, personal fraud, our school children overrun with illegals, higher cost of rentals and loss of homes, loss of private health care. The list goes on.

Our immigration system does need to be overhauled. Granted, our borders do need to be secured, but we also need a technologically, up to date system to track those who enter the U.S. on student Visas or other visas. Most illegals here entered legally, but have visas that have expired. (guess what...they ain't Mexican!) We also need to hold all of the corporations (big-Agriculture; meatpacking corporations, i.e., Iowa Beef, Tyson, Simmons Chicken, Smithville Farms, ect.) accountable for actively recruiting and exploiting undocumented workers. If those companies or any other industry was facing a minimum of 3 years in jail (yes, jail the CEOs) then you might see a change.

Amnesty must be included in any overhaul. 1) It is unethical, unchristian, and inhumane to separate a child who was born here, educated here, and is NOT a citizen of some other country from parents who are here illegally. 2) If someone has been here for X number of years, say five or ten years, and have not had any legal issues then they should be put on a track to becoming a legal citizen.

"Amnesty must be included in any overhaul"?

No it does not.

1. send them back home. Other countries do the same and we certainly deport people for less.

2. If someone has been here illegally for ten years, that does not excuse the crime. That is why certain crimes have no statute of limitations. The law is the law.

3. To grant "amnesty" to 30 million illegals would add an even greater burden on our already straining social entitlement programs and would break the back of the nation. Further, without sealing the borders 100%, such an action would encourage further illegal immigration by rewarding the previous round of illegals (see Ronald Reagan).

Deport the illegals. Save the nation. Impeach Obama and deport him with the illegals.

I do not want blanket amnesty or an easy path for the illegals here. While it may be difficult to or impossible to deport all of them, take note on Arizona. If we actually ENFORCED laws on illegal immigration, if we actually ENFORCED laws on businesses, many would perhaps go home. There are reports that many illegals are leaving Arizona. Well, thats a start. Now start getting these laws in every state. Or perhaps, enforce the laws in all states that are not dominant liberal and let the liberals deal with illegals.

Either way, his speech to day, days before our Independence Day, was just a joke and people should be outraged. I hate to hear what will come out of his mouth if he gives any sort of statement on July 4th. Certainly he will use Independence Day to push some agenda of his.

Majority are still not emigrants since they were BORN HERE. Insulting to many to say otherwise. Descendent of an emigrant is not same as being a native born American citizen. All nations peoples are emigrants way back, even the American Indidan. The U.S. had European Clovis people here for instance way way back which does not matter much. What matters is the present here and now, and most Americans are not emigrants.

Lousy speech. Waste of 30 or so minutes of my life I can't get back.

He needs to get himself to AZ and look around. Not just at the border but one of the thousands of drop houses in Phoenix. Let him go talk to the family of the rancher that was murdered on his own land.

He doesn't even know what he is talking about and he has no interest in learning. It's just sad that he should even think he can feed us this silliness.

Whether we are a nation of immigrants or not...it doesnt matter. What matters is that are not only a nation that accepts people from all over, millions each year, but we are a nation of laws. And today's times, require us to protect our borders.

For the President to say what he said today, to believe what he does and deceive the public, its just plain wrong.

I agree, and America is not even remotely like when ancestors passed through Ellis Island. Pro illegal groups and President speak with exuses and deception. I also think need to restrict temporary visas, it's way out of hand the 4 million per year that never go back.

Yeah in Houston there are a lot of Chinese and Vietnamese people that come over on travel visas. In 6 months when their visas expire they just stay here and never go back. As inefficient as the government always is they're not going to round anybody up. You can just stay here the rest of your life and nobody is going to come get you.

We are so secure that border violence is spilling over to our country? We are so secure that Phoenix became in the top 2 of being the kidnap capital of the world? We're so secure, that a state finally got fed up with the government not doing enough to...secure the border...that they took the federal law thats not being enforced and are going to enforce it themselves?

Then he went on to talk about the need for immigration reform (aka the collection of votes for Dems). He mentioned people are skeptical of both blanket amnesty and mass deportation. Sure, something needs to be done. But instead of SECURING THE BORDER, hed rather focus on getting Hispanic votes. What happened to "yes we can" Barry? That, afterall, was the chant your rat followers were hypnotized into chanting over and over. Now you and your Admin tell us we cant seal the border. We cant do this, we cant do that. Its more like YOU WONT DO THIS, YOU WONT DO THAT.

This man is completely out of touch with American, and he does so purposely. This man has been a divider since he took office. To stand up there and have audacity to say that the border is secure, to race bait and talk about illegals' rights. You sir, are disgrace. He is a man that will fight for the rights of suspected terrorists and ILLEGALS, yet does little to ensure the rights of citizens.

Obama
