2. Grilled food
3. Overall decent folks.
4. Years of overcoming injustice, from slavery to civil rights and beyond.
5. Stunning natural beauty.
6. Different cultures and attitudes from region to region.

What about you?

All that AND the fact that the United States is changeable. Change is hard here but it is possible unlike in China or many other places. And the weather is pretty decent too.

Where I'm in control of my own destiny.
Where I have choices to complete my life as a choose.
Where inalienable rights can never be taken away.
Home of my fathers Pride.
The land where my Mother died.

I'm thankful that people are waking up to the lies we have been fed and we have the ability to do something about it... Or do we?

Our natural and mundane (everyday life) history. When we are good, we are very good. When we are bad, we are terrible. This applies to everything we do. I lose faith in humanity one day, and regain it the next. Our diversity makes travelling, at the very least, thought provoking. I am not patriotic in the general sense of the word, but I respect the land, and many of the people. I find most Americans to be generous when help is needed, even when we are hurting, ourselves. We can only whine for so long, and then we get tired of hearing it, and do something about it. I love my Ancestors, too.

Stunning country with hugely varied scenic areas. You pretty much have it all from deserts to forests to oceans....

Incredibly friendly people

A melting pot which IMO has on the whole worked pretty well and puts other multicultural societies to shame

A pioneer spirit still in a lot of people

Fantastic Native American Archaeological sites

Great food ( see melting pot above)

Fabulous wildlife

Stunning open spaces and being able to truly get away from it all

A government I can finally respect

The Onion ( who said Americans have no sense of irony and self deprecation)

Some of the best TV shows on the planet ( American produces a lot of trash but when it does good stuff it truly is exceptional)

New England for its sense of history and Architecture

California . Just because .

" Indian" summers. Nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world

Steinbeck /Hemingway/Tennessee Williams/Truman Capote/ Thoreau/ Mark Twain/Melville/Arthur Miller etc...

Some great music
