Luv Joe Biden from my state
Can't stand when they make promises they don't or can't keep.

They promised the troops would be out of Iraq when Bush was still in office...puleeeesz.

Nice try Joe, but no, I don't believe the combat troops will be out by the end of August either.

Our biggest advantage over our stone-age opposition is our air assets. These will never leave, as they assure our US-approved Iraqi leaders will remain in power. And where you have airbases, you must have security. And in order to have security, you must aggressively patrol. This means US combat forces will remain in Iraq for a long, long time.

Biden is, first and foremost, a politician. Words are easy, deeds are hard, and a big problem with our political system is there is no penalty for stating one thing and doing another. For that, we have only ourselves to blame.

And in Iraq, we have PAID for a Gordian knot, spend billions of dollars, thousands of American lives and caused untold damage to our Constitution for a elusive and apparently endless search for something that can vaguely be termed "victory."

The Iraqi government has asked us to leave. Bush signed a withdrawl schedule with the Iraqi go'vt. There will be hell to pay if we overstay the agreement.

That is amusing. Iraq will hate losing US dollars.
