Even though I know this wasn't the point of the thread there are certain points I agree with.

Rather than cowering alone in chilly home-entertainment rooms, neighbors get to know one another. Because there are more people outside, streets in high-crime areas become safer. <snip>
Children -- and others -- take to bikes and scooters, because of the cooling effect of air movement. Our kids don't need more time inside, everyone agrees; they need the shady playgrounds and water sprinklers that spring up in every neighborhood.
I grew up in a neighborhood where nobody had a/c so we were never inside. Adults cooked on the grills, somebody's mom would freeze Kool-aid in a cup, and we were always outside playing; biking, swimming, or just sitting in the shade.
Yesterday I offered to take the cousins to the beach and they said it was "too hot" to go outside. LOL
But yeah now I can't stand to be hot. I have my air and the ceiling fan on...I wonder if they're going to do something like a "fireside chat" and have Obama walking around the White House filled with oscillating fans
I thought the liberals wanted to take your guns. Then it was your SUV. Now you say they want your air conditioner too? I guess the liberals will need to use the SUV to haul off your air conditioner and your guns.
Huh? What are you talking about? There is no target of the air conditioner... the guy was writing an editorial about life without A/C... that the world would be more "neighborly" in a sense... nothing wrong with that... that's his opinion... for me though... I NEED the A/C and I think the people down in South Florida would agree with me... I rather stay cool albeit I do like BBQs...
"In a world without air conditioning, a warmer, more flexible, more relaxed workplace helps make summer a time to slow down again. Three-digit temperatures prompt siestas. Code-orange days mean offices are closed. Shorter summer business hours and month-long closings -- common in pre-air-conditioned America -- return."
"No man's life, liberty or property are safe when the legislature is in session."
Pelosi's face would melt like a candle.
