What exactly is this chicks issue. She posted youtube videos, and people posted negative comments about her causing her and her father to go bonkers?

And as for 11 year olds online.. my 7 year old, and 9 year old, both have their own computers.. History shows they go to Disney.com and various other sites.. I think its bad parenting and supervision by this girls family..

btw, did you see the FOLLOWUP posting with the girl.. AFTER their outrage?

Its not an issue if kids should be on there. The internet is what it is. You are basically left with trying to safe guard it yourself to protect yourself and your kids from all sorts of things. Violence, porn, id theft, etc.
This is a parenting issue. I think its safe to assume, most adults are atleast aware of the things people do on the internet and what can be found there. Monitor your kids. Know what the heck they are doing.
But seeing how most parents dont give a damn where their kids go outside, who they hang out with, what they watch, or what they listen to...I dont expect that to change with the internet. My g/f's aunt/uncle just bought their 7 year old a computer, with internet access. And I dont think they monitor him very much.

Wow, that kid is a real brat. If she's going to talk smack, she better have thicker skin, otherwise she'll keep crying.

No one should have wide open access to the internet unless they are ar least 18 years old. Any parent that lets a child 11 years old rome around cyber space is not responsible.I bet the kid in the video also has a cell phone and makes poor school grades.

I am raising a fifteen year old, she does have a computer in her room.

She knows I will check the history, if it has ever been cleared, the computer is gone.

So far, so good.
