That's not logical, although admittedly logic isn't the ruling force in a lot of people's perceptions and the emotions on which they base their actions. Those same terrorist types bomb their own country for letting us build military bases on what they consider their holy land, which is what started this whole mess in the first place, after all.

LOL, wonder if people would happier if the US returned the favor and let the Saudis put a military base in lower Manhattan instead of letting American Muslims have a mosque in the neighborhood.

It's a provocation.

We have been importing their oil for 10 years and providing them military aid now we are going to worry about a mosque receiving donations???

Where has all this anger been up until this month?

More polling: No contest - the more people hear and think about the notion of erecting a muslim shrine to celebrate that horrible day, the more they don't like it.

TIME Poll: Majority Opposes Mosque, Many Distrust Muslims - TIME

According to a new TIME poll, 61% of respondents oppose the construction of the Park51/Cordoba House project, compared to 26% who support it. More than 70% concur with the premise that proceeding with the plan would be an insult to the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center.
24% think obama is a muslim, only 47% believe he is Christian.

We need oil for a host of products - jet fuel, petrochemicals, plastics, fertilizers, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and on and on.

You haven't followed the fight to drill on our own land? No, tie our hands and force us to fund the Saudis.

How ridiculous is it to oppose domestic drilling because of environmental considerations only to support irresponsible development overseas? We were forced off land, by these same environmentalists, into the deeper Gulf and look at that disaster. How ridiculous. American environmentalists are preventing responsible development right here at home. Alternative energy sources are only part of the answer.

Along the same lines, Cuba will now be drilling in waters off of Florida, while we hold fast to the moratorium.

Does that make sense?

Regardless of what you think of Glen Beck, he does have some good and documented information here.
