And Stringer's endorsement of the project has made him a target of Tea Party leader Mark Williams, who called Stringer on his blog: "…a Jewish Uncle Tom who would have turned rat on Anne Frank for the price of an approving glance from Hitler."
What were you saying now about the tea party having no opinion on it?
They are doing it because they can . This is not freedom of religian or speech, it is a memorial for the saudis who murdred Americans . Plain and simple .
It's the last nail in the coffin of America .
The LAST NAIL? Really? Well good, I guess we can stop hearing people complain now.

A community center with a small prayer room in it, which is open to all denominations is a memorial for the saudis who murdered Americans? Yeah what a memorial. This is getting silly.

Aren't the tea partiers hell bent on "restoring" our country to strict constitutional rule? If so, how can so many of them be against building a community center or place of worship on privately owned land anywhere in this country? All I've seen are arguments that Saudi Arabia won't allow Christian Churches, but is a Christian version of Saudi Arabia really what these freedom-loving constitutionalists are aspiring to??
How come so many tea partiers are willing to throw their principles out the window by either opposing the free exercise of religion or working to establish their own as the state sponsored one?
Maybe I'm missing some bizarro-world excuse that shows that opposing the free exercise of religion is actually pro-constitution (a la "Liberals are the real racists"). Help me out here.
I thought taking part in your poll might be edifying but then I saw the questions and didn't see what they had to do with your title. Sorry you couldn't indicate in the title what you wanted.
It is a 15 story COMMUNITY Center for ALL denominations of people, including non-"believers", where there will also be space for prayer.
1.) Muslims consider everybody of ANY other religion a "non-believer" (a.k.a. Infidel)
2.) A space for prayer? It will take a lot of space to accomodate that number of worshippers in a downtown NYC mosque. What is the going size of a prayer rug these days?
3.) Why would a non-muslim enter this place?

Oh - it won't be the last nail. It's just a matter of time. In a weird way, I hope we get hit by another massive attack just to shut the liberal's up. It still won't matter though, as they will just point the finger at Bush as usual.

To understand the Tea Party mentality and thought process, you must first board the crazy train. Suspend conventional thought and enter their world, then you start to understand.
Now you know that you have never been a Tea Partier but you say that one has to be in their world to understand so how do you know so much?
Can they build a timothy mcveigh church next to the bombed building in Oklahoma? I guess that wouldn't bother most people because of freedom of speech or religion.
Darned good answer but it has too much sense to get an answer.
