I see a industry that has come together collectively to insure (lol insure) that they maintain the most profit as can be. In this case government regulating them and telling them to play fair and threatening their profit otherwise might be government actually working for the people instead of being *evil government*.

You know small government advocates (Republican conservatives) often site that individuals need ethics and to take personal responsibilty, well industry needs to do that also. They shouldn't get a free pass to do whatever they want because of a worship of free enterprise as being "American".
What can I say? You said it all.. I agree 100%

It amazes me how some support the current health industry namely insurance when they raise rates and deductables while decreasing coverage just because it is private industry. Somehow they believe private industry are always angels and it is cursed government that always is to blame.

Imagine if every private industry did that, got together and price fixed, got politicians to create laws of protection, and every company you called said to you "stuff it if you don't like our prices we don't need you as a customer".

Hey it is a free country right?

The problem has never been the quality of our healthcare. It's great...if you can afford it.

1. People that can afford to pay in cash here because our hospitals are not clogged with patients.

2. That's due to the fact because the Communist-in-Chief successfully eroded the dollar in one year what took years for Bush to do.

Personally I go to Thailand for my dental work.
Happy Dental Home
Dr. Somsri Sudsangiam
Very gentle very caring very professional. Best of all very reasonable prices.
Believe it or not this combat vet is afraid of dentists so I don't go as often as I should but I do brush like a fiend.
The medical care in Thailand is on par with our own provided you go to the hospitals that specialize in treating foreign patients. The prices are reasonable.

The Euro has been more powerful than the dollar for a while now. This isn't a new thing because of Obama.

I just hope you aren't really sick... I like to see the really sick tell me how great the medical care is over there (if they are still alive)... and how are prices different? Do you know that the standard of living is different over there... comparing apples and oranges doesn't help... you don't expect people to work for $1 a day over here do you? Its a free country... if you want dental work over there, nobody is stopping you... if you want dental work over here, stop complaining...

You know, I hear lots of people gripe about universal health care, but I'm not opposed to it. When there are millions of Americans without health insurance, and the obesity rate is in record levels, something unusual most be done because the usual method obviously isn't working. It must be reformed. A good majority of these overweight people susceptible to diabetes live below the poverty line.

I have Asperger's Syndrome which is on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum. Many insurance companies don't even cover my condition on their programs. If I needed to receive counseling or whatever, it would be twice as hard for me because I'm not filthy rich, nor am I dirt poor. I'm ineligible to qualify for Medicare because I'm not below the poverty line though I've made barely above minimum wage. That said, something must be done to correct these flaws in the system.

I agree that America is a socially regressive society. It's pretty obvious when we're being divided more and more each day into a nation of haves and havenots. Then people start making a big stink about helping out those in need calling it socialism, yet when we give aid to large corporations, it's good for business.
