I can find you dozens of links of news stories of women emulating sex and the city... If you've evern been in a city, you'll see women going out for their "cosmo nights" trying to act out the show....

Poor things . I've see cattle auctions with more class than some women of today . Seems they would have figured out by now that men like a little challenge and mystery .

Seems to me that had a lot of prostitution going on in Victorian times.

Do you think having unrealistic views/expectations is a healthy thing?
your example is a tv show and a movie both highly glamorized fiction made as entertainment.

your posts all seem to indicate you think just about every woman (not man, mind you) that has more than one sexual partner is "hyper-promiscuous"

young single women in the city can go out for cosmos or any other drink, wear fashionable clothes, have a healthy sex life and not be what you would consider a ****. nor are they against men, another favorite topic.
women can and do have the right to the pursuit of happiness just like a man does. it is only the judgmental in society that seems to have a problem with it.

as for the movie pretty women. the moral of that story was life does, sometimes turn around and a better life is possible. get your closed mind out of other people's sex lives.

Women were healthier, happier before the 60s . Not to speak of their kids actually had what is known as a father around !

I loved being a girl ,hehe, and treated so special . It was kinda silly though when the boys would fight over who was to open the door for me at the show .
They were? Women were more likely to die in childbirth. They were more likely to die in a hospital administering science predicated on a mans body. They were more vulnerable to violence, manipulation, and oppression perpetrated in their own homes (not just society at large).

Honor they mother and thy father wasn't actually being upheld equally in homes or in the streets. That doesn't mean we should abolish honor, which appears to be the direction our national culture took. Blame liberals all you want but you're both guilty.

I think the fact that people take cues from shows and movies like these on how to behave or view the world is the real harm to society.

Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed both shows, but anyone who uses tv/media to get ideas of how to structure their lives is a sad, sad human being.

pappy all your "facts" are merely opinion. you may have been happier in the 60's than what you imagine others are now, however many women would argue the point with you. lol, most women still like being treated like a lady and you can bet a cosmo drinking woman of today is treated like a lady or she shows the man the door. she can take care of herself. unlike some women in the 60's that continued to take sh*t because they had no where else to go.

Remember the common scolding from Mamma... "If your friends told you to jump off the Brooklyn bridge, are you going to do that too?"

How many adults have lost that lesson from Mom (and Dad)?

I didn't know any of these women, must have been the ones living amoung the fems and lesbians .

Women are more abused today than any time in our history . Childbirth was very unusual death ,but heart attacks now are number one cause for women. Too much stress, smoking and sitting .

Are you serious? Are you serious?

Even if this stat is true, it probably has to do with the fact that women are more likely to express their opinions in this day and age.

Being treated as a second class citizen and having no choices is another way to be abused, btw.
