I suspect that the Republicans wanted to piggyback the bill with something since it was an "easy" yes apparently... don't matter, its going to go back up later under normal rules to be voted... so Wiener (or whatever the name) seems to be more grandstanding than anything... Democrats in the past have done the same thing, refuse to pass legislation so that they can piggyback things... Republicans do it and the liberals here act like its never been done before... Is it wrong? Yeah.. but I don't see the Democrats stopping anytime soon...
How about just the bill for 9/11 and not stick other junk in it that has nothing to do with 9/11.
That is tough to do when you are trying to get some political garbage for the election.
King said that when the bill is voted on, later, without all the restrictions they allowed yesterday it will pass easily. What kind of foolish rule would force a vote of 2/3 in the House where only a majority is needed, as we saw with the Health Care (Reform) bill. Games are being played by the Dems of Pelosi and it is so easy to see.

So it would be an actual 9/11 bill and not have a bunch of amendments attached to it.
Eh...don't know what this issue is really about but he did bring up a good point in his rant and Ii'm glad he called out the other members of congress. It's true, you either support the bill or you don't...don't try to mask your decision in a facade of legal jargon.
All the Weeny was doing was trying to get some garbage to throw on Republicans at election time. I would have told him that I voted against the bill because I couldn't support it as it was written so he had to admit that it was loaded.

What about the bill could you not support as written?? The fact the GOp wasn't able to throw in a bunch of un related Amendments uinto the bill?
The Dems did not need a single vote from the Reps to get this through the house. Explain to me why the Dems did not pass it.
They put in that silly 2/3 vote thing knowing that Republicans would likely vote against it. It is all politics and nothing else. It is too bad that latere they will pass it with ease with normal rules. Nasty Nancy knows what she is doing and Weeny Weiner was working with her.

They put the 2/3 in so the bill wouldn't be bogged down with Amendments. They wanted strictly a vote on this legislation as is.

You know what happened and you also know that the Weeny was playing a game like he so often does when playing the political game.
