How much do you want to bet that these people here saying that the workplace has the right to hire and fire as they please (which they do) would be howling at the moon if some employer said that muslims couldn't wear their religious garb.

Why did they have to do it on site? I was under the impression that there were no areas where God was not present. Maybe they should have just performed an exorcism.

And wonder how many people who are saying that Christians should be allowed to hold collective prayer at work would freak out if a Pagan ritual or Muslim prayer was said?

The should pray on their own time and not try to use the company's time to pray. This falls under the "DO YOUR JOB" category.

Somebody was there... enough for the prayer to become common knowledge. So... there's clearly more to it than just the praying.

I'd take that bet.

I wouldn't raise a fuss.

A workplace is a workplace. You go there to work, and you must abide by their rules or get fired in a right-to-work state.

Exactly.

They weren't fired for being Christian. They were fired for praying publicly at work.

There is a difference. I'm sure if they had gone outside, and prayed for the soul of their "mean" co worker, they would have been just fine.

First, it wasn't a private employer, the employer was a public university.

Second, it really depends on the details of what happened. If they "prayed over" someone who didn't want to be "prayed over," of course it's harassment. If they were doing it because the person was a non-Christian that they thought was going to hell, it's harassment. If the person wanted to be prayed for, that's fine.

Tell me Christians on here, would you consider it harassment of a group of Satan worshipers gathered around your cubicle on repeated occasions to cast satanic spells over you?

As has been pointed out, they were either observed or left evidence, otherwise nobody could have possibly known. Insufficient data, that's why we have courts. But trusting the plaintiff's attorney to present a complete picture of the case is seriously naive.
