GM donates $41,000 to lawmakers' pet projects
Quote:
When General Motors went through bankruptcy last year, it suspended its political donations. Now that it's owned by the U.S. government, it's donating to lawmakers' pet projects again.
The carmaker gave $41,000 to groups associated with lawmakers, the vast majority of it -- $36,000 -- to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the company reported on a disclosure form last week. The CBC Foundation is a charity with 11 members of the Congressional Black Caucus on its board.

The anger and rage toward anything associated with the government continues. This is what Republicans/tea partiers are about.

I can't take this remark seriously for one second. The anger towards Washington right now is nothing compared to the rantings posted on CD during the Bush years. Remember the term BDS?

GM is not doing anything new... they are contributing to those who will push their issue (and make them more money)... EVERY company lobbyist does the same thing... if money didn't exist, there wouldn't be lobbyists... This is what I call "Corporatism" the lobbying by Big Business with Big Government... sure its bad, but I don't blame just GM, the Republicans get TONS of money as well as Democrats... if you want to change something, change the status quo on lobbying (or you can be like Obama and be all talk about it and do nothing)...

No..I think it will take 1 more year for the fireworks to really start and TSHTF big time.

Took from 1929 to 1934 to hit bottom.
We're in year 3 ourselves..2007 start so another year maybe two if Ben doesn't run out of ink or get his printing press taken away by China.

Know your facts. The auto bailouts were not a giveaway that never has to be repaid like the gift to big banks at tax payer expense for the wonderful job they did with the housing market. GM has already paid back the loans and more to the government. $41k is pocket change. Big oil donates millions of dollars to their right wing cronies.
