In your opinion, what will happen on Dec. 12, 2012? Will the Mayan and Hopi prophecies of a major turning come to pass or will it be business as usual?

Are you doing anything to prepare? Are you worried/concerned or eager for possible change?

First, the Mayan calendar is cyclical, in the same sense that a year is cyclical. The last day of one year is followed by the first day of the next year. So the Mayans carried their calendar only so far. Second, it is totally absurd to believe that ancient peoples, despite their impressive achievements in many respects, had some way to foretell events when even our modern science cannot do that. We may as well believe in the tooth fairy as to believe in these doomsday predictions. The U.S. Government, through NASA, is tracking all near-earth asteroids and there are none on a trajectory which is even close at the present time.

No, I'm not.

I don't believe in magic and that is what believing the Mayans knew what would be happening in 2012 entails.

Lets see, the mayans never did make a prediction that the world was going to end on this date. Also the Hopi predictions, are not date specific.

Also, I figure I will be able to make money off of the poor saps that believe the made up hype, just like I did for Y2K

I think on Dec. 12, 2012 another day of my life will have passed away. I have no idea when the last day of my life will arrive, but I don't think that particular date has any higher probability of being my last than any other date. On the other hand, it has as high a probability as well.

As far as calendars ending, mine ends every year... I just buy a new one and hope I live out the days contained within.

Shouldn't we be more concerned about 10-10-10 or 11-11-11 since they come before 12-12-12? Sheesh.
